Welcome to Snow Country!

When the locals up here mention places like Constableville, Redfield, Boonville, Barnes Corners, Lowville, Florence, & Turin, it's generally in reference to how much snow we got.

These photos are NOT digitally altered!

The typical average snowfall for this area is 230", give or take a few feet.

Yes, feet.

At left is a full size Dodge RAM truck making its way down a local road after a series of snow storms that rocked the northeast in 2004.

Terms like snow flurries, snow squalls, lake effect snow, snow showers, blowing and drifting snow, blizzards, white-outs, & heavy snow accumulation are common phrases that are heard during the Winter month's weather forecasts.

As long as we can dig out and locate our snow machines, we're happy.

We take it in stride up here and quite frankly, we turn these otherwise dismal Winter weather conditions into opportunities to ride our snowmobiles!

With the proper attire & apparel, a reliable machine, and a few good friends who share our enthusiasm, it doesn't get any better!

At left: A picnic table after a typical lake effect snow storm that dropped 30" in 24 hours.

It's time to play!

Check out my friend Tom's page for more photos from the Winter of 2007.

Caution: For dialup users, you are going to be downloading for awhile.

This is a big page!
